From gymnast to performing in front of 700.000 people

Hello everybody!
My name is Lasse Smed and I’m a 26 years old stuntman and performer from Denmark! 
I’m currently a part of Show Talent Network and I’m super excited about this next step in my career! 

Since as long as I can remember I’ve struggled with not knowing what I wanted to do in life. I have a background as an elite gymnast and I have been doing tricking since my early teenage years and I deeply wanted to incorporate and combine these arts into my corking life. Movement in general has always been a huge passion of mine – I love to use my body and see what’s it’s able to do! But even though I really wanted to pursue making a living by doing movements I’ve never thought it was possible.. Untilsomething changed! I quit my full time job and got hired by the Royal Danish Theatre to dance, do acrobatics and stunts. Since then I’ve had the amazing opportunity to perform in a bunch of countries. Italy, France, Faroe Islands and in Saudi Arabia. In Riyadh I was a part of a ENOURMOUS show with more than 700.000 people in the audience – the most unique experience. This was where I met Ran and he has since introduced me to this amazing platform where my dreams about my future suddenly don’t seem so unrealistic anymore! Without people like him who trust me I couldn’t do this and I’m forever grateful to the people I meet on the way who see a light in me. It means the world! 

I think I have a quite unique story because of my background as a traditional gymnasts and my “underground” tricking style. I have a bit from both worlds and I think these many years of training really benefits me when I’m doing stunts and such! Air awareness and body control is something I have from doing sports and it’s something I use every single time I’m on a stunt job. The urban look from tricking is a perfect fit when doing stunts!

Since this love for stunts came into my life while being an adultI’m thinking a lot about what else I might fall in love with later on in my career. I’m always super excited about learning new things and I really enjoy expanding what I can already do! 

Again, I’m so excited for this journey! I feel so blessed that I have the opportunity in life to make a living doing shows, film and TV.
